When you use the ApplianceMath calculator, you voluntarily provide:

Appliance model number — used to identify your appliance and calculate your AM Score
Appliance age — used as an input in your AM Score calculation
Issue description — used to identify the likely failed component and estimate repair cost

We do not require you to create an account. We do not collect your name, email address, or any other personally identifiable information as part of the standard calculator experience.

Information Collected Automatically

When you visit ApplianceMath.ai, we automatically collect certain technical information through Google Analytics and standard web server logs, including:

IP address — collected automatically by our servers and Google Analytics
Browser type and version
Device type (desktop, mobile, tablet)
Operating system
Pages visited and time spent on each page
Referring URL — the page you visited before arriving at ApplianceMath.ai

To operate the calculator — your zip code, model number, age, and issue description are used solely to calculate your AM Score and generate your repair-vs-replace recommendation
To improve our service — aggregated, anonymized usage data helps us improve the accuracy of our calculator, expand our labor market database, and enhance the user experience
To conduct research and publish insights — we may use aggregated, anonymized repair data — including zip codes, appliance categories, common failure types, and estimated repair costs — to publish market research, press releases, and industry reports. No individually identifiable information is ever included in published research.
To measure site performance — Google Analytics data helps us understand traffic patterns, popular content, and user behavior across ApplianceMath.ai
To comply with legal obligations — we may use or disclose information as required by applicable law

Aggregated Data and Research

ApplianceMath.ai collects anonymized, aggregated repair data from calculator usage — including appliance categories, common failure types, zip code regions, and estimated repair costs. This data is used to:

Improve the accuracy of our AM Score algorithm
Publish market research and industry insights
Produce press releases and public reports on appliance repair trends in the United States

This data is always aggregated and anonymized. We never publish or share data in a way that could identify an individual user or their specific appliance.

How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes.

We may share information in the following limited circumstances:

Service providers — we use third-party services including Google Analytics (analytics) and Supabase (database infrastructure). These providers access data only as necessary to provide their services and are contractually obligated to protect it.
Affiliate networks — when you click an affiliate link on ApplianceMath.ai, you are directed to a third-party retailer or service provider. At that point, you are subject to that third party's privacy policy. We do not transmit your personal information to affiliate partners.
Legal requirements — we may disclose information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority.
Business transfer — in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of SB Logical Properties LLC, user data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify users of any such change via a notice on ApplianceMath.ai.

Data Retention

Calculator inputs (zip code, model number, age, issue) — retained in anonymized, aggregated form indefinitely for research purposes. Raw individual session data is not retained beyond 90 days.
Google Analytics data — retained per Google's standard Analytics data retention settings (26 months by default).
Server logs — retained for up to 90 days for security and performance monitoring purposes.

ApplianceMath.ai is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, please contact us at privacy@appliancemath.ai and we will promptly delete it.

ApplianceMath.ai contains links to third-party websites including retail partners and service providers. When you click these links, you leave ApplianceMath.ai and are subject to the privacy policies of those third-party sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party websites.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we collect. Our database infrastructure is hosted on Supabase, which employs industry-standard security practices including encryption at rest and in transit. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
